Hi! I’m Bala. This blog is a collection of my ramblings on systems, site reliability, and occasionally life in general. I am a Platform and Site Reliability Engineer with 12 years of experience across enterprise and early-stage startups. Most recently I was a Staff Software Engineer at Artera AI. Previously I’ve worked at CVS Health, Rad AI, Salesforce, Shape Security (acquired by F5 Networks), AppFolio, and Ericsson.

I write about infrastructure, observability, incident management, and the occasional hard lesson from the trenches.

I live in Wisconsin with my wife and our goldendoodle Maui. I love to cook, experiment with espresso, read espionage fiction or history, travel, and stare at any plane that goes overhead.
